Croghan Crusher Gravel Grinder FAQ

Please reach us at jennifer@recresbikestudio.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

For all three courses, a gravel bike is likely to be the most popular choice because it offers a strong balance of speed, comfort, and technical handling.

· Gravel bike: Best overall option for most riders, especially if you want an efficient ride across mixed surfaces.

· Mountain bike: A solid choice if you want extra control and confidence on rougher or more technical sections.

· Hybrid bike: Usable if it is your preferred bike and you are comfortable riding it over gravel terrain.

The course includes 3 aid stations on the 49-mile route, 2 on the 30-mile route, and 1 on the 10.6-mile route. Because the race is long and includes significant elevation changes, plan to carry your own water and energy supplies. Aid stations will provide water handoffs; electrolyte drinks and small protein bars will also be available, but you will need to stop to pick them up.

NO. Tools & tubes are recommended. Mechanical support is not allowed on the course.  The Sweeper Crew follows the race to pick up racers & bikes that cannot finish.  Roving UTV's will carry a pump only.

All racers must finish within the 5-hour timing limit. If you cannot finish within 5 hours you will be recorded as DNF. The Sweeper Crew vehicle will require racers that cannot finish within 5 hours to accept a ride or sign a release.

YES. If you are registered for this event and wish to change your race mileage after receiving confirmation, you must email us with notification of your change before race day. Failure to notify prior to competing will result in disqualification from the event. We appreciate your compliance.
